Sour Cream Twists | The Freda Family


  • 3 1/2 C Flour
  • 1 tsp Salt
  • 1 C Shortening – part butter
  • 3/4 C Sour cream
  • 1 C Sugar
  • 1 pkg Dry yeast
  • 1 tsp Vanilla
  • 1 Egg and
  • 2 yolks beaten
  • 1/4 C Warm water


Sift flour and salt then cut in shortening. DissoTwisted Cookies ~ With Rolled-In Sugar

lve yeast in water; stir into flour mixture with sour cream, eggs and vanilla. Mix well with hands. Cover with damp cloth and chill two hours. Roll half dough at a time. Roll dough out, sprinkle with sugar, fold in ends and repeat three times. Roll dough out, cut into strips, twist and shape. Bake 375 for 15 minutes.
