Ingredients
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1 cup warm water (35 seconds in microwave/100 degrees)
- 1 pk yeast sprinkled on top of above
- 1 egg
- 1/3 cup oil
- 1/2 Tablespoon salt
- 5 ½ to 6 cups BREAD flour
Preparation
Place sugar, warm water and yeast packet in a clean bowl
Yeast will bubble (about 10 minutes)
After above yeast is activated add
1 egg
1/3 cup oil
1/2 Tablespoon salt
Mix well
Add BREAD flour starting with 2 1/2 cups
Keep adding flour until dough is not sticky(about 3 to 3 1/2 cups total)
Knead at least 5 minutes
Spray bowl with Pam
Coat dough with Pam
Cover and allow to rise until doubles
Braid as desired
Allow for second rise after braided
Coat with egg yolk wash
Add topping
Bake on (Pam) greased sheet at 350 approx 35-40 minutes
